What type of ukulele should I buy?

I’ve recently been inspired by a Youtube artist to learn the ukulele. With that said, I have no idea where to buy one, what kind to buy, or how much they cost…

Since I’m VERY newly interested, is there a less expensive one with decent sound that I could purchase to see if the ukulele is something I’d like to pursue?

A Mahalo brand ukulele won’t give you sticker shock, and many folks have had good experiences with this starter uke.

You could also check on: Oscar Schmidt, Kala, Lanikai, and Makala brands.

Get a soprano or concert size. Not a tenor or baritone.

Upgrade the strings to Aquila brand strings.

The best selection of ukuleles around is on eBay. Look for the trusted sellers such as ukulele4u and musicguymic:

A good, inexpensive beginners ukulele is the Makala:

Or, if you can afford a little more, the Lanikai LU-21:
