I’m struggling with playing and singing a song on my ukulele at the same time, i usually get off with my strumming and i end up going a lot slower than the song really is. Anyone have any tips on how I can learn how to do this at the same time? Any good practicing techniques?
P.s. Any guitar players have any tips, its pretty much the same thing so please help

play alot more ukulele. if u cant multi-task while playin (ex: if u can talk and play) it means ur skills are lacking. the only solution is more practice.

Practice, practice, practice the ukulele part until you can play it without thinking about it. Then you can focus most of your attention on your singing and still keep the uke part going correctly.

First, say the magic words, “Ooka wakka tiki, c’mon I wanna laya, mahalo ukulele.” That’ll get you in the right frame of mind.

The real trick is mastering your chord changes and strumming so that it’s done as effortlessly and without thought as possible. Once you find that you can move around and even occasionally speak, then you can start trying to sing along.

It’s hard to be able to sing and play at once. It’s especially hard if you’re singing or playing something complicated. It takes excellent timing and a ton of practice.
